We all know the importance of making time to take care of our health and well-being. However, how many of us actually prioritize this critical activity? In our world today, we are so busy trying to get everything done well, done on time and done for others. In the process, we ourselves have become “undone” and unhealthy. Our own “undone-ness” leads to stress, frustration and grabbing food on the way here and there. We are getting sick more often than we have time to manage. We may even at times, snap at those we love most. It’s just not our style and we know it. Herein lies the great health and wellness paradox. When we do take better care of ourselves (and we do deserve it) the hustle and bustle of life does not stress us out or “undo” us. The joy in our life actually drives us and energizes us. By creating strategies to live well, we become a healthier version of ourselves and we have more time to spend doing the things we love with the people we cherish.
One great example is meal planning. By planning simple, healthy meals in advance, you can save time and money. Try developing a rotation of winning healthy recipes that you and your family love. You’ll take the guess-work out of what to buy in the store and you’ll shop ahead when items are on sale because you know what you’ll be serving in a few weeks. Best of all, you’ll always know how to answer that infamous question, “What’s for dinner?” If this sounds like it takes a lot of time. It doesn’t. In fact, there are many apps that can make this activity fun and easy breezy. Now you are in control and not undone. Well, at least the majority of the time, instead of the minority of the time. 🙂
Paradox Health and Wellness will work with you to systematically devise strategies that can help you live well in a busy world. We will have fun and gain important knowledge about the science of food and nutrition. You’ll get more organized and most importantly become healthier in the process.
